This course provides an overview of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2016 with a particular focus on changes from the previous legislation that will affect the work of interpreters in custody situations.The Course is open to any interpreters working in Scotland, or interpreters elsewhere who are interested in learning more about legislation in Scotland.
This course provides an introduction to conflict resolution.The course is open to anyone with an interest in conflict and how its is resolved. The course is online and available throughout the world.The course runs over three weeks and is followed by a final week where you will complete a self-assessment exercise. The course covers three themes:What is conflict and what causes it?Why does conflict escalate?How can conflict be effectively resolved?When taking part on the course you will be asked to watch videos, read some online materials, participate in online discussions with fellow students and tutors, and complete some online quizzes.You should budget a few hours a week to take part on the course.At the end of the course, if you successfully complete the self-assessment exercise, you will obtain a Certificate of Attendance, confirming your participation in the course.This course is designed to give you a small insight into what studying on Queen Margaret University’s MSc Dispute Resolution is like.
