General introduction to international human rights, as well as an overview of some specific topics in this field.What you'll learn:By the end of this course, you should be able to understand basic notions of public ethics and the law, as well as the concept and importance of human rights throughout history and in the current international context. You should also be able to identify and reflex on some specific issues in the human rights agenda, such as the rights of women, of the child, of indigenous peoples; the environment; terrorism and armed conflict; and sexual minorities, among others This course is meant to be a general introduction to international human rights, as well as an overview of some specific topics in this field.The first half of the course consists in: An introduction to basic notions of public ethics, the history of Human Rights, international instruments, categories of rights, Human Rights violations, protection and responsibility thereof.The second part of the course deals with current issues in the human rights agenda such as: Rights of women, rights of the child, rights of indigenous peoples, armed conflicts and terrorism, the environment, transitional justice, sexual minorities.The course consists of 33 lessons, each one lasting about 10 minutes. There's no time limit to complete it. We estimate that completing the course (watch all classes and answer all quizzes) takes about 7 hours in total.We have experts from all around the world as visiting professors for some classes.Since December 31, 2018, we will NOT deliver paid virtual certificates from the Universidad Diego Portales, even if it could say the opposite in the first and last video of the course. Introducción al estudio de la corrupción desde una perspectiva de ética pública y de derecho internacionalWhat you'll learn:Al final de este curso, usted debería ser capaz de entender nociones básicas de ética pública ciudadana y derecho utilizadas en el nuevo campo de la transparencia y la lucha contra la corrupción. En particular, se espera que los alumnos y alumnas adquieran las herramientas teóricas necesarias para poder exigir mejores índices de transparencia a sus gobiernos.Al concluir el curso los alumnos y alumnas se habrán familiarizado con algunos conceptos básicos de ética pública, conocerán aquellas conductas éticamente reprochables y legalmente sancionables, identificarán algunas áreas vulnerables frente a la corrupción, aprenderán cuáles son las principales medidas preventivas, de control y de sanción de la corrupción y comprenderán mejor la situación actual de algunos países de América latina.Este curso busca introducir a los alumnos al estudio de la lucha contra la corrupción y por la transparencia, desde una perspectiva de ética pública ciudadana y de derecho internacional, incluyendo el estudio de la situación en algunos países de Latinoamérica. Este curso también está disponible en inglés, árabe y chino, búscalo como Transparency and Anti-Corruption, الشفافية ومكافحة الفساد o 透明和反腐 respectivamente.El curso se compone de seis unidades. En la primera se entregan algunas nociones conceptuales básicas, con énfasis en la idea de ciudadanía. En la segunda unidad se tratan las normas de ética pública y de derecho internacional que rigen la lucha contra la corrupción y por la transparencia. En la tercera unidad se relaciona la corrupción con algunas áreas específicas, tales como su estudio académico, su presencia en algunas industrias y en la actividad política.La cuarta unidad presenta algunas organizaciones internacionales y chilenas creadas para la lucha contra la corrupción desde el Estado y la sociedad civil. La quinta unidad trata las principales medidas de prevención, control y sanción de la corrupción. Por último, en la sexta unidad se estudia la situación de corrupción en algunos países de América latina, incluyendo Argentina, Brasil, México, Perú y Venezuela.El curso consta de 32 clases, cada una de unos 10 minutos, además de un quiz o examen luego de cada clase para reforzar contenidos. Estimamos que para realizar el curso completo (ver todas las clases y responder todos los quizzes) se le debe dedicar aproximadamente 7 horas en total. El curso está hablado en español, con subtítulos, transcripciones, cuestionarios y material adicional en español. No hay límite de tiempo para completarlo.Contamos con expertos de toda América como profesores visitantes para algunas clases.Desde el 31 de Diciembre 2018 NO entregamos certificados virtuales pagados de la Universidad Diego Portales, aunque en el primer y último video del curso pueda decir lo contrario.
