But most of this data is disregarded despite its value to the gaming industry.This course will show you how to store and analyse data effectively and gain insights into game users’ actions and behaviours.You’ll find out about the different models of data, such as tabular data, atomic data, and relational data.You’ll understand how to store non-relational data at scale, and why data can be hard to distribute.You’ll learn how to build better gaming experiences and increase profits.This course is aimed at those who already work in the games industry, but may also be of interest to those looking to work in the sector.In order to get the best out of this course you should have a laptop or desktop computer (Windows or Mac) that can run virtual machine software such as VirtualBox or Docker.You should be happy to install software on your machine such as Python or R Studio.Links and instructions for installation and use will be included during the course.

Monitoring the moisture in soil can help predict floods, fires and droughts.On this course, you will learn about the ESA’s Sentinel-1 Missions, and how citizen scientists collaborating with GROW are helping validate satellite data locally with sensors.You’ll discover sensing, and become part of the GROW Citizen Observatory. You will collaborate with other growers and scientists to learn about soil sensors and make sense of soil data to improve your growing practice.This course has been created for anyone interested in any of the following subjects: soil, climate, technology, satellites, food growing and the environment. You don’t need any special experience, however, it might be of particular interest to: small farmers, community and urban growers, gardeners, land managers and allotment growers as people interested in climate monitoring, sensing, social innovation and space science, technology enthusiasts and teachers in science and environment-related subjects. This course brings together people who love soil with people who love data.You won’t need any specific equipment to participate in this course. This course will help you to learn more about soil sensors, so you may wish to try one out if you have one, but this is not required.

You do not need any particular tools or resources to take part in the course, but we recommend you have access to some space for food growing. If you do not have access to a garden or growing site, you are encouraged to identify a plot of land (it does not have to be big) in which you can carry out the activities. This could be your local community garden or farm, or maybe a neighbour’s garden who might be interested in learning more about soil and food growing with you.You won’t require any special equipment for this course. For some of the activities you will need easily available tools such as a shovel or a measuring tape. All the tools required will be detailed in the relevant sections of the course.

This free online course will take you on a journey through the world of forensic anthropology, unveiling the tools that will allow you to reveal that identity.Join forensic experts to identify the deadIn the shadow of Dundee’s Law Hill, a grim discovery demands the attention of forensic experts. Unidentified human remains have been found and the police need to identify the victim to move forward with their investigation.After a meticulous recovery of the remains, it will be your job to:document and attempt to explain any evidence of trauma;identify the victim through biological profiling;and undertake a facial reconstruction.Experts from the University of Dundee’s award-winning Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHId) will guide you through the process of human identification.They will introduce you to the fields of human identification; forensic anthropology and archaeology; craniofacial identification; and the study of the human body.Evaluate evidence as the case unfoldsWeek-by-week, the case will unfold, providing you with more information about the victim.
