In the contemporary world due to revolutionary outburst of computers and mobile phones which has led to increase in various types of cyber crimes using these digital devices and Internet. Digital Forensics is a branch of Forensic Science comprises of recovery and investigation of materials found in digital devices like a Computers, network devices, tablet or a cell phone and typically refers to the seizure, acquisition, and analysis of digital data and the presentation of the report in the courtroom.The course is very useful for the students, lawyers, investigating officers who are keen to know and passionate about the concepts of Digital Forensics. There is continuous increase in the demand of digital forensic experts, a flourishing carrier option for those who are interested to explore this challenging profession. Other than career option, it makes you aware about different threats on the internet and how to protect yourself from all these threats.This course is based on UGC Curriculum and presented as a four credit elective course. The objective of this course are to :• Understand and utilize the fundamental concept of computers and digital forensics• Students shall be prepared for various technologies/tools to combat and investigate computer and cyber crimes. The first part deals with fundamentals of computer architecture, importance of hardware , software , input/output devices, processor, memory, storage devices, then make you learn about various file systems and encoding and decoding in computers.The second half of the syllabus is dedicated to various types of cyber crimes and its investigation and finally we would understand some of the challenges faced in present scenario.

Course includes detailed and in depth knowledge of Indian Music Specially Vocal tradition north India of with illustrations supported by traditional Knowledge with modern innovation in music and learning techniques. These topics based on ancient texts and are also relevant to present context.With a short historical survey of music, course will explore general aspects of classical music including Swar, Raga, Thaat, Geet Gazal, Bhajan, Filmy music, Ravindra Music, Western Music, Music Composition and Music Direction.Folk Music of north India with special focus on vocal tradition will be a important part of study.Important aspect of Indian vocal tradition is Semi Classical Music and its interdependence on Classical and folk music.Detailed study and practice of techniques of Swar SadhanaThe course provides basic knowledge of Indian classical vocal Music with Folk, Filmy, Western, Semi classical and other north Indian vocal traditions. It is very important to student learning music directly in UG level as well as senior/ junior student learning music in any other system. It is important for credit seekers as Core/ Elective/ Generic elective as well as non student professionals of other fields and freelance learners of all ages.

Chemistry of d-block elements Quantum Chemistry and Spectectroscopy

This four credit course is a part of UGC curriculum, as a discipline centric elective and has given space in fifth semester of B.Sc. program.Entire course has been divided into two sections: First section describes general trends in properties of d-block and f-block elements. In the sequence, you will first time learn about origin of colour, magnetic and catalytic properties of d- and f- block elements. Ability to form complexes, stability, variable oxidation states etc. of d- and f- block elements will also be discussed. It also includes, bonding theory behind formation of coordination compounds, in which valence bond theory and crystal field theory for complex formation will be discussed. In addition isomerism and IUPAC system of nomenclature for coordination compounds will also be taught.Section two covers quantum mechanical background behind molecular characterization. In this section quantum mechanical approach for molecular spectroscopy will be dealt. In this connection principle like, wave-particle duality, particle in 1-D box, normalization of wave functions, Born-Oppenheimer approximation etc. will be used for finding interaction between matter and electromagnetic radiation. Next, introductory explanation of Rotational and Vibrational spectra and their role in molecular characterization will be dealt. This section also includes electronic spectroscopy and photochemistry.
