High Tech High began in 2000 as a single charter high school launched by a coalition of San Diego business leaders and educators. It has evolved into an integrated network of schools spanning grades K-12, housing a comprehensive teacher certification program and a new, innovative Graduate School of Education.

Course Participants will hypothesize a learning mindset-related change to be implemented within their educational environment, test their theory, and present their findings to a wider audience.
The opposite of deeper learning is shallow learning. Jump into the deep end with the Deeper Learning MOOC (DLMOOC) and participate in a personal learning experience that connects you with other educators who are putting progressive theory into real practice. We’ll leave the textbook race behind and explore what education could and should be about, and give you tools to implement the changes you want to see in your schools.
During the course of six weeks MOOC participants will work to design a “narrative” about the school they are creating. This narrative lays out the “mosaic” of school creation puzzle pieces (eg.: purpose, student mix, pedagogy, etc) to the varied prospective audiences that the participant will encounter.
